Smelter Grade Alumina (SGA)
Smelter Grade Alumina (SGA) is a high purity calcined alumina produced by the Bayer process. It is a dry free flowing coarse powder that is the primary ingredient of the manufacturing of aluminum.
Chemical Grade Alumina (CGA)
Wet cake (WH-30) is a high purity alumina trihydrate produced by the Bayer process. It has the consistency of damp beach sand. Common uses include water treatment chemicals, catalysts for the oil and gas and other refining industries, deodorants, antacids, toothpastes and cosmetics.
Dry hydrate (H-30) is a high purity alumina trihydrate produced by the Bayer process. It is a dry free flowing coarse powder. Noranda Alumina’s unique crystallization process produces a product recognized throughout the industry as one of the most desirable raw materials for grinding. This same process imparts properties that lead to rapid dissolution in strong acid or strong bases. Common uses: detergents, flame retardants, adhesives, paints.
